About

Eric Kim is an illustrator, educator and comic artist from Toronto. His projects focus on relatable experiences through using the graphic novel format.

His first project with J. Torres was about a Canadian that encounters and learns to embrace Korean culture. His other works include the short story The Recording with Van Jensen for Where We Live, a benefit for the victims of the Las Vegas shooting, Northguard with Anthony Falcone for Chapterhouse Publishing, and Billy Smoke with B. Clay Moore.

He is a graduate of Sheridan College from the Interpretive Illustration and Computer Animation programs.

Eric has worked in Film, Television, and helped with the development of many video games through companies like Sinking Ship Entertainment, Spooky Squid Games, Havelock Games, Mr. X VFX, Add Oil Games, Rocket 5 Studios, and the SyFy channel.

He has been a speaker and panelist at Word on the Street Toronto, the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo, the Paradise Comic Con, and Ad Astra. He has also held workshops through the Toronto Cartoonist’s Workshop, Story Planet, and many Toronto Public Library and Toronto District School Board branches. He has also run classes through his Manga Dojo workshop, which helped empower students through creating their own graphic novels and stories.
